We have found that the best way to assess the smoothess/roughness of a runway is to see how an aircraft responds to it.  At APR, we have developed a range of products designed to assess the ride quality affect of a pavement's profile.  This study has led us to two primary products; the Auto Rod and Level profiling device and the Ride Quality Analysis. These two products combine to provide accurate assessement of the pavement's true ride quality.
